Abu Dhabi-based music streaming service Anghami merged with Vistas Media Acquisition Company in March 2021, becoming the first Arab tech company listed on the Nasdaq. Two other music companies have gone public through SPACs since the investment vehicles exploded in popularity in 2020. Of the 609 SPACs currently seeking an acquisitions, according to SPAC Analytics, at least two are targeting music specifically: Liberty Media Acquisition Corporation and Music Acquisition Corporation, the latter headed by former Geffen Records president Neil Jacobson. But a SPAC interested in music has limited options for companies with a track record, strong management and multi-billion-dollar valuations. That adds pressure to find an acquisition target. ![]() SPACs - blank-check, shell companies that get funded before finding acquisition candidates - typically have 18 months to finalize a merger before returning investors’ money. Now, there may be no better time for Deezer’s investors, which include Access Industries, Warner Music Group’s majority owner, to cash out. “It’s better for us to wait a bit,” Didier Bench, chairman of Deezer’s board, told The Wall Street Journal at the time. Today, services can rely more on self-pay subscribers and rely less on money-losing promotions. Then, Deezer had 6.3 million subscribers - although 40% came from partnerships with mobile carriers partnerships that did not generate any revenue. ![]() ![]() Which is especially bad because the Arcs were the only turrets that actually engaged air units immediately after they entered their radius. No energy-based weapons target air units anymore. You cannot increment custom loadouts more than 100 at a time. You cannot remove a resource type from a customized loadout.Customizing loadouts is great and should not require you get to Wave 40 on each map in order to be able to do utilize that feature. As I said in my last comment, it's just grinding to waste time. Needing to spend resources to uncover a new map in addition to the resources you need to spend to unlock the prerequisite research is incredibly stupid and a major waste of resources. Can't do damage to anything, let alone the bombers that tear everything apart. But the cultivators and presses are also pretty much useless. Once you finally get the oil extractor it's pretty bearable, though. On the topic of Plastanium, it's obnoxious to make because of how many cultivators you need to get anywhere near enough oil to make production more than a trickle. The mend projector is useless but all you have until you can get enough (I think it was Plastanium?) to unlock the Delta Mech which THEN lets you unlock the Tau mech to repair things yourself OR you can get drones to repair things all over the map when they need to be repaired instead of setting up a Mend Projector temporarily and tearing it down because it costs too much power, covers too little an area, and is too infrequently needed to be set up permanently. The mend projector takes long enough to research, then you need to be able to build it and power it for a laughable repair area that repairs very little over a very long time. You can't repair structures reliably for way too long.(Unless this was a bug because it carried over my save from the last version - which I REALLY hope it is.) So the only way you can get to the last map to get Thorium is to repeatedly launch on the penultimate map, deconstruct the vault on that level, and use the Thorium you get from that to research the drill. But the best part is that in order to unlock the final map you need to research the Airblast Drill, which you need Thorium to research. Thorium is required for a lot of the late-game things. Only one map has Thorium (the final map) which makes its usefulness (and all research related to it) incredibly useless.Without it I would have given up long ago. The launch pad removed the limitation on how many resources you could collect, lessened the impact of losing (at least you got something out of it), and allowed for researching upgrades with newly acquired materials without needing to relaunch. I had minimal desire to play the recent builds until I unlocked the launch pad in the Beta 64 build. Placing the launch pad so far back in the tech tree really bites.Requiring something that has more advanced materials as an unlock requirement to unlock later branches that do not need as advanced materials makes zero sense.Things that immediately come to mind are: The research tree is still poorly ordered. Also the efficiency text for the thermal generators and certain other buildings are sweet, they should be implemented for all drills and all pumps as well. Use sandbox-specific item and liquid source blocks to test out designs, and spawn in enemies on request. In regard to the most recent beta versions, I will start by saying thank you for returning grass as well as water animations. – Sandbox: Play around with infinite resources and no enemy threat. Create units, or attack other bases directly with your mechs. – PvP: Compete with other players on up to 4 different teams to destroy each other’s cores. Optionally enable an AI that builds defensive structures to an extra challenge. Create a variety of different types of support and offensive unit to assist you in your goals. – Attack: Build factories for units to destroy the enemy cores, while simultaneously defending your base from waves of enemy units. Prepare your base for intermittent attacks from airborne bosses. Survive as long as possible, optionally launching your core to use your collected resources for research. – Survival: Build turrets to defend from enemies in tower-defense based gameplay. ![]() ![]() ![]() I finished Black Mesa about a week ago, and I was thoroughly impressed. That deprivation has arguably skewed the way people are responding to it.Īgain, though, I don’t want to sell it short. ![]() Black Mesa, therefore, is the first fresh and significant Half-Life experience fans have had in half a decade. In five years, there hasn’t been any word on when Valve will release another Half-Life title or what it will entail. This has become especially obvious recently. I haven’t ever bought into the hype, and I feel that the praise Black Mesa received with regards to re-inventing or augmenting the Half-Life story has been just a little too generous and inflated. The core Half-Life experience is mostly unchanged and the fundamentals mostly intact. While the team does demonstrate a little creative license throughout the experience, it is still only within the constraints of an established framework. While I have always admired the team’s ambition to transform one of the greatest shooters ever made – which I’m sure we would all agree is no small feat – I haven’t ever been able to look past the simple fact that it is a remake of someone else’s creative property. How should one honestly critique something that’s free and taken so long to make without undermining that investment? All I can do, I think, is be honest. Likewise, a large number of Half-Life fans have awaited its arrival with great anticipation. #QUESTIONABLE ETHICS BLACK MESA FULL#But alas, it is free, and the people who have worked on it have done so with amazing dedication and passion over nearly eight full years. You can see there are four insulated (Composilex 2) 7N (99.99999%) copper conductors, each with 10 strands. Here is a cross-section of the Eclipse 7 speaker cable. This presents an extremely difficult load for any amplifier, and because of the very low impedance above 6 kHz, the impedance of the cable can make a difference in the sound, which is what I found. The electrical phase is almost entirely capactive, with a small section at 500 Hz to 1.4 kHz being in the inductive region. You can see that above 6 kHz, the impedance drops below 2 ohms, and it is less than 1 ohm at 20 kHz. This is why the subject of cables is so contentious.įor this test, I used a pair of MartinLogan Summit X speakers, which are of an electrostatic hybrid design.īelow is the Impedance/phase plot for the Summit X. Nevertheless, putting in a high end speaker cable does not always make a difference, because there are many variables involved. ![]() The result is that speaker cable differences in sound are much easier to hear. So, the cable impedance is much closer to those same values. With speaker cables, on the other hand, the output impedance of a power amplifier is also low (0.2 ohms) and the impedance of a speaker is low as well (4-8 ohms). They consistently outperform generic cables, both in bench tests, and in the listening.Īlthough my own listening tests of interconnects – not only Wireworld’s, but all interconnects – do not yield clear cut differences, it is probably due to my age (70), and the fact that interconnect differences are subtle due to their very low impedance compared to the output impedance of a preamplifier (300 ohms) and the input impedance of a power amplifier (100 kOhms). Wireworld is a standout among them, because, in my opinion, they use real physics in the designs. We have reviewed many interconnects and speaker cables over the years. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cultural values and Indigenous knowledge are promoted to restore and create cultural heritage sites in the area. For years and with support from Ujamaa Community Resource Team (UCRT), EECDI has strengthened community capacity to manage, own and benefit from land and other natural resources, including wildlife. EECDI’s goal is to support integrated conservation and livelihood development through tourism initiatives and cultural restoration. ![]() Engaresero Eramatare Community Development Initiative (EECDI), a community-based organization formed by the general assembly of 12,000 people from Engaresero village, manages the territory of life. It is administratively situated in Engaresero village, Ngorongoro District, in the northern tourism circuit of Tanzania. The territory is the source of pasture and water for both livestock and wildlife throughout the years.Ĭurrently, this territory is managed and governed by both customary Maasai structures and the national and international frameworks related to natural resources of national and global importance. The Maasai people depend on the Lake’s wider catchment area for their livelihoods because it is the most reliable wetland area for the large dry landscape. Named after Lake Natron, the world’s most critical breeding site for lesser flamingos, the territory is home to diverse groups of flora and fauna and forms an important corridor, ecosystem, and landscape of two World Heritage Sites: the Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This leads to a feeling of being marginalized and disempowered, which again causes resistance to conservation, as in this case.Largely occupied by the Indigenous Maasai People, this spectacular territory of life is adjacent to Oldonyo-Lengai, the Mountain of God, an active volcanic mountain in the country. Conservation in the study area takes place without local communities having any real influence on decision-making. In between these areas, people try to sustain a living on the remaining land, while encountering increased problems with wildlife. Large areas have in various ways been turned into different types of protected areas during the last few decades as results of efforts by conservation NGOs and governmental agencies. There are growing elephant and human populations in the area, which must be understood in the context of land use changes. A severe drought sparked off the event as elephants increasingly raided crops and destroyed water pipes. ![]() Using a ‘web of relations’ approach, we seek to uncover the underlying as well as the immediate factors that led to this incident. ![]() This article presents an event that occurred in West Kilimanjaro in 2009 when numerous villagers chased a herd of elephants over a cliff, killing six of them. As we show in this case study, however, not all violence against elephants is driven by the ivory trade. ![]() Such events are usually presented as results of the rising global demand for ivory. Many incidents of elephant killings have recently taken place in Tanzania as well as in other African countries. ![]() ![]() ![]() I've taken my interest in music to a whole new level now. ![]() The only time I won't charge for designs is if you're part of a community i.e. ![]() I've been on the design scene for around nine years now and I'm never ceased to be amazed by all the new and different styles and concepts out there by other amazing artists!
